One Wish Before You Die -" Podcast "

Hello  again ! I  hope  you  are  doing  well.

I  feel  better  when  I  see  that  I  can succeed  the  assingments  given  in  "Instructional  Technologies  and Material  Design in  English  Language  Teaching ". I'm   sorry, I  should  have  told  you  before. The  tasks  in  this  blog, including  itself, are  all  thanks  to  this  course.

Today's mission is creating a podcast. This time it is a team work. The number of my friends is limited at school. But the ones I have are great 🙂.So  with  one of my best , Serra , started working together on this project.

There were three options for the podcast. We chose the second one:Vox-Pop. I  mean, to  ask a question at least ten people and to  evaluate  the answers at the end.

So first we decided the question.

"What is  the one thing you definetly want to do before you die?"

I  think it is a nice question to answer. We  walked  around  the  campus  and randomly  questioned. After  getting  the  answers,  we  wrote  the  script. We  voiced  sentences  one  by  one  with  Serra. We  decided  on  generic  music  and  created  our  podcast  with  the  further  contribution  of  my  dear  partner. We  talked  to  13  people  and  we  got  different answers .The results  show  that  most  people  want  to  visit  another  country  before  they  die. In  our  opinion,  the most  interesting  one  is  "I  want  to  see  the  Rolling  Stones ,before  they  die "😃

The  process  was  fun and  after  listening  our  podcast,  we  were  proud  of  ourselves😍

I  would  like  to  give  a  similar  task  to  my   students  in  the  future.I  couldn't  find  any  disadvantages, however , I can  list  the  advantages  as  follows:

  • First  of  all , teachers  should  create  their  own  podcast  in  accordance  to  their  need  and  students  level  as  an  sample. Then  they  can  give  it  as  an  assignment.
  • While  prepearing  their own , students  use  all  four  skills.
  • Writing -while  writing  the  script- , speaking  and  reading - while  recording  it - , listening - while  listening to  theacher's  sample  and  the  podcast  they  prepared -.
  • The  research  they  do while  prepearing  all  these  processes   and  the  technology  use  are  other  added  bonuses.
  • The  best  part  of  all  is  that  a  very  nice  product  emerges, which  is  very  satisfying  for  students.

That's  all  for  now!
